At this time of year, it’s common for churches to dedicate a week or more to prayer and fasting as they welcome the New Year. I love this practice and pray that what we begin this month will carry on throughout the year.
Below is a short poem that reflects my longing for less noise and more of God’s gentle presence in my life.
Take a deep breath. Perhaps open your hands. Let the God of abundance fill you once more as you create space for Him in 2025.

I need space– space for grace so I'll slow my pace push back my plate and bow my face before the One who waits patiently for me to embrace outrageous mercy that pleads my case and like ashes in the wind removes my sin without a trace.
